The Golden Boy award is in it's second year, but the overall Awards ceremony has been annually held for the last 15 years. The Golden Boy recognises talented youngsters putting in performances of a regular standard for their club across the top European leagues and whilst some names will be very familiar to soccer fans, there might be a few names that send people searching on the more popular computer games to see how they are rated.
Six English based nominees are in the 2017 shortlist and with names like Kylian Mbappe of PSG and Bercelona's Ousmane Dembele also included, this year's shortlist is certainly a strong one.

The Golden Boy Award for 2017, amongst others, will be presented during the SPORTELMonaco Convention at the TV Sports Awards on October 23rd at Glamor Salle Des Etoiles.
2016's winner of the prize was on loan Swansea City midfielder Renato Sanches who now plies his trade for Bayern Munich. Manchester United's Marcus Rashford came in second place.
